Résumé

Ce roman dépeint les persécutions que les chrétiens ont subies sous Néron au Ier siècle en racontant l'histoire de l'amour entre un patricien, Marcus Vinicius, et une jeune femme chrétienne, Lygie. Le titre évoque la question qu'aurait posée Saint Pierre fuyant Rome et rencontrant Jésus-Christ portant sa croix : Quo vadis, Domine ? (Où vas-tu, Seigneur?). Au travers de cette histoire attachante et romanesque, nous en apprenons beaucoup sur l'histoire et le quotidien des Romains de cette époque.
